“Supposedly the creatures are there to be protected from a cruel re-extinction policy, but actually they are pawns in a diabolical scheme to breed super-weapons that can be auctioned off to a gathering of international bad guys.”
THIS, right there, is the prime example for Hollywood’s bankrupt nature when it comes to “better ideas”. It’s always some mega corporation trying to build mega weapons or destroy our humanity. It’s a tired, boring trope that apparently all inept screenwriters feel the need to regurgitate – encouraged by studio executives to whose literary education is a foreign concept.
Extinction is not an option, but exhaustion is a distinct possibility.
