Seriously, why are allegedly literate people unable to figure out that “would of” and “could of” are incorrect, and that this represents “would’ve” and “could’ve”, as a shortening of “would have” or “should have”?
Particularly when this is pointed out to them, and they double-down on the error, insist on not changing, and claim some sort of high road of literacy.
Yep, I guess that ‘allegedly’ is used appropriately.
