Such fascinating things that I am learning about my Dad, as I’m cleaning out the old place.
After the war, he flew as a pilot for SAS (Scandinavian Airline Systems), followed by a stint with AFD (Austrian Flug Dienst – Austrian Flight Services), before he settled in at AUA (Austrian Airlines).
The attached picture is from his retirement party at AUA in 1981. I have since received several emails from former colleagues, with many kind and reverent words about my Dad (my favorite was a reference to him as the “grandseigneur” of pilots of that time.)
Take care, Dad, and thanks for everything you’ve done when I was a kid!
